The Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program is a HUD funded program that allows the Housing Authority to directly subsidize the monthly rent payments for very low income families.
Linn-Benton Housing Authority administers two types of Section 8 Housing assistance programs: Housing Choice Vouchers and Moderate Rehabilitation.
Housing Choice Vouchers

Families pay a portion of the rent and utilities, generally equal to 40% of their adjusted monthly income. The Housing Authority pays the landlord the balance of the rents on behalf of the families.

- NED–Non-Elderly Disabled Vouchers Housing Choice Vouchers designated specifically for non-elderly disabled families. Families who qualify are automatically applied to this program waiting list when applying to the regular Housing Choice Voucher program.

Tenants residing in these units pay 30% of their monthly income for rent and utilities. Under this program, the Housing Authority provides subsidies for units in a former hotel, The Julian, in Corvallis that have been extensively remodeled into studio and one-bedroom units.
